
WhatsApp recently shared its users’ security report, in which Meta’s messaging app announced that it had banned more than 3.6 million accounts in the month of December 2022. According to the users’ security report, the accounts violated 2021 IT Rules. It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp has banned these millions of accounts in India only. It seems that WhatsApp does not take any risks in terms of security and privacy.
WhatsApp has blocked 3.6 million accounts in a month
The company further revealed that more than 3.6 million accounts were banned before a report from users reached the company. The app took the decision to remove some accounts from its server.

A WhatsApp spokesperson further said that WhatsApp is an industry leader in preventing the misuse of end-to-end encrypted messaging services.
The spokesperson added: “In accordance with the IT Rules 2021, we have published our report for the month of December 2022. This User Safety Report contains details of the user complaints received and the associated action WhatsApp has taken, as well as WhatsApp’s own preventive actions to mitigate abuse on our platform.
It is worth noting that WhatsApp also banned 2.6 million accounts in India in the month of September. WhatsApp is undoubtedly doing its best to make itself the most secure platform.
