According to the latest news, Twitter has started sharing ad revenue with select content creators on the platform today. The point worth mentioning is that all users who have signed up for Twitter Blue and earned more than five million tweet impressions per month during the last three eligible months Revenue from Twitter ads.
Reports claim an automated email was sent to qualified creators. It told them that their portion of the ad revenue will be deposited into their linked Stripe accounts within the next three days. The platform went on to say that the program and its implementation is expected to expand to all eligible creators later this month.
Twitter will offer monthly paid subscriptions to subscribers
Elon took to the platform to reveal that the first payment shown in content creators’ comment threads will be collected from when the scheme was first introduced in February.
“We are expanding our creator monetization offerings to include ad revenue sharing for creators. It means creators can get a share of ad revenue, starting with the comments on their posts. This is part of our fight to help people make a living directly on Twitter. We will roll out the program more extensively later this month and all eligible creators will be able to apply.”
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Musk has been looking for new ways to monetize and bring more creators to the network since the acquisition. The new move comes at an important time since Meta launched Twitter rival Threads to heavily compete for domination of the Twitter app. Many analysts have claimed that Threads will be a Twitter killer, but I think with news of rewards circulating through social media like wildfire, more content providers will be eager to get on board. What do you think?
In addition to ad revenue Twitter creators now has the option to offer monthly memberships to consumers for $2.99, $4.99 or $9.99. Musk further stated that the creators can make the most money because Twitter will not charge anything for the next 12 months.
