Sindh High Court reserves Dania Shah’s plea for bail in offensive video case

Last December, the FIA arrested Dania Shah, ex-wife of the late televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain in an obscene video leak case. I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t know. Amir Liaquat Hussain’s daughter sought FIA action against Dania Shah for making lewd videos of her father on social media go viral. As a result, the Karachi FIA cybercrime circle arrested Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s former wife, Dania Shah, from Lodhran in the scandalous video leak case. It is worth noting that last month Dania Shah challenged her arrest in the SHC in the video case on January 19. She even stated in her petition that the FIA arrested her illegally and that it failed to meet legal requirements despite submitting responses to the agency. As per the latest reports, the Supreme Court of Sindh (SHC) has reserved its verdict on Dania Shah’s bail application in that particular case.

Dania Shah’s bail plea reserved by SHC

The Sindh High Court heard the bail application of accused Dania Shah for uploading lewd videos of late televangelist Dr. Aamir Liaquat on social media. The FIA prosecutor accused Dania Shah of making and uploading the videos to make them go viral. He claimed:

“During the investigation, two songs were identified, whose videos went viral.”

The twist in this Amir Liaquat video case is that Dania Shah’s lawyer, Liaqat Gabol, stated in the court that the songs mentioned in the challan from which the viral videos are uploaded are not registered under the name of the accused Dania Shah . In addition, the lawyer further stated that the accuser’s allegations are baseless. He even said that the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain never filed any complaints with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) about the offensive videos during his lifetime.

Lawyer Liaqat Gabol, attorney for Dania Shah, accused Aamir Liaquat’s daughter, Dua Aamir, of pressuring Dania Shah by being involved in the case. He said:

“Dania falls victim to seeking an inheritance in the possession of the deceased.”

As a result, the court has reserved its decision on Dania’s bail application after hearing arguments from both parties, but the decision is likely to be announced today. Let’s see what comes next. Until then, stay tuned.
