Samsung Galaxy S24: Expected specs and design
Talking about the chipset of the upcoming handset, let me tell you that Samsung deviated from its previous strategy of providing different chipsets for different regions by bringing Qualcomm Snapdragon chips to all their handsets across the board. Previously, Samsung phones in specific regions were lumped in with cheap Exynos chipsets. However, the question to be answered now is whether Samsung will make this a habit or fall into old habits.
The highly anticipated Galaxy S24 will be getting an upgrade from the S23’s 8GB RAM to 12GB RAM, according to the latest leaks. Reports claim that base models will have 256 GB of storage capacity. It will be double the offering of the base S23 model. The point worth noting is that there are no hard words yet on anything related to the Samsung Galaxy S24’s screen or camera array. However, we expect a similar lineup of 50MP primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP telephoto and 12MP selfie snapper with a fast 120Hz AMOLED display.
Reports claim that the overall design of the upcoming Galaxy S24 will keep the design of its predecessors. It means that Samsung has no big plans to change anything significant. However, there are some rumors claiming that advanced materials will be used in the design and manufacturing of the Galaxy S24 that could reduce the weight somewhat.
Galaxy S24 launch date
Seeing the previous trend, Samsung usually announces its latest flagship Galaxy S-series phone in mid-January to early February. There’s no real consistent pattern as to when exactly the announcement will happen, but we think the phone will typically launch sometime around 2-3 weeks after the announcement. February or March 2024.
Expected Galaxy S24 price
The tech giant is undoubtedly quite predictable with its pricing structure when it comes to the last few Galaxy S models: the Galaxy S21 was $799 at launch, as were the Galaxy S22 and S23. We expect the company to hold the course and release the Galaxy S24 for $799.
